I relocated to Hawaii in 1974, and on Friday's after work sometimes, I'd take the Beach Bus out to Makapu'u Point, climb to the peak, find a spot, settle down and watch the night pass by. I took this photo before the sun set late one afternoon, propping my camera on a rock, lining up the view, clicking on the timer, then making a mad dash and pose; old school selfie.
My friends and I used to swim to that little island off of Makapu'u when I lived there. Everyone always said that was a shark infested area, but we’re still here.
