Justin Kruse
I’m a photographer in East Texas with a love for traditional photography, darkrooms, and the physical process of making photographs. I spent years shooting digital professionally, but picking up a Yashica FX-2 in late 2023 brought me back to film and completely changed the direction of my photography. What started with shooting black-and-white quickly grew into developing my own film, building a darkroom, printing, scanning, and eventually processing color and slide film as well. Today I shoot everything from 35mm to medium format, with a particular love for black-and-white photography and classic cameras. That journey also led me to start Heritage Film Lab, where I can help other photographers experience the same thing I rediscovered: slowing down, making something tangible, and remembering that a photograph doesn’t have to end on a screen.
