Downstream of Palouse Falls

Standing on the bluff to the right, for the geologist Harlen Bretz in the ‘20’s the accumulated evidence and observation finally flooded together (heh, pun intended) into a grand realization that all this below him and throughout eastern Washington can only be the result of a massive, cataclysmic flood. For forty years he was dismissed as a crank for his theory by the scientific community. Proving once again, science is NOT a democracy…only one guy has to be right. I grew up on a cow farm about thirty miles from this spot. Sere, barren country. Colder than a well digger’s ass in the winter and only a mile from the sun in the summer. Harsh country.
