Kane Hall at the University of Washington

Juxtaposed on Red Square at the University of Washington across from Suzallo Library is this...Kane Hall; a shining example of Brutalist Architecture. The sixties gave us a lot really bad stuff; Brutalist architecture among them. Open for business in the Fall of 1971, I was among the first students allowed to luxuriate in its cold, sterile bosom. I had two classes that Fall in this thing-Fisheries 101 and Philosophy 120. 700 to 800 students in each lecture hall. The population of the town I grew up in was 597. A bit of change that.
