Heh, it's starting to feel personal, since I've seen other uploads happen today, but I keep on hitting this error (tried 6 times now, with clearing my cache between tries, and even logging out and back in, in case it was a user session issue). The error is clearly a server-side error though, so I don't actually thing it is client (browser) based, but I tried those troubleshooting steps just to be thorough.
Earlier today I created some code to normalize the color space of images so that they appear as close to possible as intended when uploaded. Something about that code was causing an error for some uploaded images. Interestingly, the error bypassed error reporting so I can't even figure out which type of image from which type of scanner was throwing the error. Growing pains of a new site! I hope it's working for you now.
Success! I was able to upload the file I had been having trouble with earlier.
