Bellevue City Hall

Shabby confession time-I have never been paid a penny for architectural photography my entire professional career. And yet, as I post pictures to this site, I see that a disproportionate number of them involve a building. You are the first to ever have seen them. Congratulations…I guess-not sure :-) This was shot with a f/9 300mm Nikkor Q which I picked up off of eBay for maybe $175. It is the precursor to the better known ‘M’ series. It is mounted in the old style silver-ringed Copal shutter and only lacks the multi-coating of the M series-though of the same Tessar design. AND equally sharp though the lens needs to be carefully flagged to minimize flare owing to the single coating. If you view this as a 20”x30” print, you’ll see that it does not want for sharpness. Also apologies for the seeming dark appearance of the b/w images on the site; compared to FB these seem to render 2/3 to a full stop down. Different algorithms or something I guess. I’m too lazy to go back tweak each image to fix the issue.
