Spanish Village

Here's the TLDR on this. Shot Polaroid P/N in Spain in January of 1990. Languished for 22 years in my garage unprocessed. When found, I thought 'huh, lessee what we got here.' Turns out that Polaroid goop ages a bit over time-who knew? The result was this Atget-like 19th century look that I find wonderfully appealing. Sloth and neglect can be rewarding it seems. More of this style to come.

Such an interesting photograph. I'm surprised the chemicals held up for so long! Makes me wonder what gems I have sitting in boxes from years back.

I know, right!? Sloth and neglect baby, that’s the key! Heh… The bucket and post shot for example. Languished for forty years in a box-never even contact printed. The surge markings just put me off. It betrays hanger processing which only really manifests with really smooth areas like tight, cloudless sky such as here. Found it again last weekend and scanned it into to Photoshop. It’s actually a really good shot with only minor tweaks and to hell with the surge marks-don’ care anymore. It’s a bit of a pity that it’s me what has to say it…but still.
