Kodak UltraMax 400

What Kodak UltraMax 400 actually looks like — 11 photographs shot on it by members here.

ISO 400 · Color negative · 11 photographs · 1 developing recipe

Kodak UltraMax 400 is a consumer 400-speed color negative film with a warm, punchy, saturated look and visible grain. It costs a good deal less than Portra 400, which makes it a popular everyday film for 35mm cameras, point-and-shoots and travel.

The extra speed makes it far more flexible than ISO 200 film in mixed or fading light, and like most color negative films it tolerates overexposure well — rating it a little slow is a common habit. Color and grain are less refined than Portra, which many people like. For a cheaper, warmer daylight film, compare it with Kodak Gold 200; for more natural color at the same speed, Kodak Portra 400.
